At 08:55 Station 122 (Churchill), 153 Engine, 302 Engine (Wilkins Twp #1), 303 Truck (Wilkins Twp #3), and 137 RIT (Edgewood) were alerted for a dwelling fire in the 100-blk of Kings Dale Rd, Churchill. 122 Chief arrived and found heavy fire from the rear of the structure that was already starting to burn through the roof. 122 Rescue and 137 Rescue arrived and advanced lines to attack the fire. 153 Engine secured a hydrant and laid into 122 Rescue upon their arrival. 303 Truck and 302 Engine arrived and assist with initial fire ground operations. With heavy fire from the roof and initial issues with the water supply 122 Chief requested a 2nd Alarm. This brought 207 Engine (North Braddock), 304 Engine (Wilkins Twp #4), 225 Truck (Penn Hills #5), 227 Engine (Penn Hills #7), 135 RIT (East McKeesport), and 196 RIT (Monroeville #6) all to the scene. After pulling crews out of the building to resolve the water issue a majority of the fire was knocked down from the outside and crews returned interior to finish extinguishment. The fire was placed under control in 90 minutes but 153 units operated for over 4 hours performing overhaul and packing up equipment. The Allegheny County Fire Marshall is investigating.
